Samaritans Wellington are seeking volunteers to answer calls to our helpline for those feeling lonely, depressed or suicidal.
You can make an amazing difference by becoming a volunteer telephone counsellor for Samaritans and helping to support people when they need someone to talk to or when they are going through a difficult time in their life.
Samaritans are there to help people through the tough times in their life, whether they are struggling to cope with depression, loneliness, bereavement, relationship breakdown, financial stress or any of the myriad challenges life throws at us.
We are looking for people who are good listeners, non-judgmental and empathetic. No professional qualifications or previous experience is required, as full training and on-going support is provided.
Our next volunteer training course begins in October 2018 in Thorndon, Wellington and spaces are limited, so apply now.
